Product Description
This Red Velvet Cake oozes sophistication with its deep, red luscious sponge and a subtle chocolate taste. You'll need to add 65 ml vegetable oil (4 1/2 tbsp.), 205 ml water, 3 medium free range eggs and decorate it with 1 tub of Betty Crocker Vanilla Style Icing or Cream Cheese Frosting.
Ingredients
Ingredients: Sugar, wheat flour, palm fat, fat-reduced cocoa powder (3%), raising agents (calcium phosphates, sodium carbonates), corn starch, emulsifiers (propane-1,2-diol esters of fatty acids, mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, sodium stearoyl-2-lactylate), salt, stabiliser (xanthan gum), colours (carmines, paprika extract), flavourings, flour treatment agent (ascorbic acid).
Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan). 2. Grease two 8-inch cake tins or line muffin trays with cupcake cases. 3. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, 65 ml (4 1/2 tbsp) of vegetable oil, 205 ml of water, and three medium free-range eggs. Mix until smooth. 4. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared tins or cases. 5. Bake for 25-30 minutes (for cakes) or 20-25 minutes (for cupcakes), or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. 6. Leave the cakes to cool in the tins for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. 7. Once cooled, decorate with the included Vanilla Style Icing. 8. Serves 12 (as a cake) or 24 (as cupcakes).
