- To make the items featured in this leaflet you will need 4.0mm knitting needles. Tension: 22sts and 28 rows to 10cm (4in) over 24 row patt on 4mm needles. 22sts and 32 rows to 10cm (4in) over 4 row patt on 4mm needles. It is important to check your tension before commencing the garment, therefore knit a tension square. If there are less sts or rows to 10cm (4in) than the number stated, change to finer needles. If there are more sts or rows to 10cm (4in) than number stated, change to larger needles.
