This very unusual plant has the common name Madagascar Palm, originating from Southwest Madagascar it is a succulent and therefore more closely related to cacti than palms! The plant has one spiky central stem that is almost metallic grey in appearance, on top of the stem are the long thin leaves that will die back in winter creating the 'trunk'.

    RATING- Moderate

LOVES- A bright and sunny position will suit this plant best. Avoid low light areas. Water liberally in Summer, watering when the soil dries out and cut back in winter to once or twice a month

HATES- Overwatering, especially in Winter- cut back on watering once the leaves have fallen off

    Pot diameter- 10cm

TOXICITY RATING- Highly toxic to pets (Leaves and stem contain latex sap)
