Note:
Prepare the mold: make sure the mold is clean and free of dirt before mixing the concrete. If used before, clean with soapy water or industrial alcohol. Just brush a little light vegetable oil or release agent in the form. It is recommended to use release agent, but it is not necessary. Not using release agent will make the stone more difficult to release, and you need to be more careful to damage the mold. However, too much release agent will cause bubbles on the face.
Mixed concrete:
When mixing concrete, always wear appropriate safety equipment (rubber gloves and anti particle mask).
Mixing can be done by hand using a suitable concrete mixer, a trolley with a concrete hoe, or a shovel in a bucket. It is very important to take time to mix everything completely.
Tip: adding colorant to the concrete will make the stepping stone look more natural and beautiful.
Filling mold:
Fill the bottom face of the mold with concrete and pat hard to eliminate bubbles. Then fill the mold completely to the top and smoothly the top face by hand to make the concrete flat. Complete the mold by knocking and shaking to discharge as many bubbles as possible. Curing and demoulding:
After the mold is full, place the mold on a horizontal table. Cover with plastic film and wait for less than 24 hours to cure. A plastic film covering the concrete will help maintain indoor humidity, just like a greenhouse, which will minimize face cracking. After the stone solidifies, then carefully pull it up gradually from all directions until it pops out.
